Business Support

The unique benefit that the Inward Investment Team in Dorset can offer businesses and organisations who are looking to relocate to – or expand within – the area is the strength of our own network.

If your company is looking to locate, partner, invest or expand in Dorset we can help you to identify and access new markets, investments, technologies and products.

We will provide all the information you need, offering advice on the economy, locations, recruitment and sector specific information.

We can also help you understand the training and financial support that will help your company thrive and will continue supporting your business after you have settled in the area.

Infrastructure & Connectivity

Dorset is located at the ‘Gateway to South West England’ with a rapidly growing Bournemouth Airport and three commercial ports at Poole, Portland and Weymouth.  London is around two hours away by either road or rail.

Further improving Dorset’s electronic and physical connectivity, particularly through high-speed broadband, is a key priority for the Dorset Local Economic Partnership.

More than £31.75 million will be invested in Dorset to deliver ‘super-fast’ broadband for most of the county by April 2015.

Quality of Life

From Bournemouth and Poole right through to some of the most picturesque towns and villages in the county, there is the right work-life balance available for you and your family.

The area is world renowned for its natural environment including the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and its countless historic sites and buildings. Indeed over half the county has been designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  This offers an ‘outdoors lifestyle’ with various leisure activities including walking, cycling, horse riding and watersports.

The real selling point of the area is its diversity.  From shopping in its main retail centres to buying local produce and crafts at the many farmers’ markets across the county; from sampling the nightlife at many fashionable restaurants and bars, to enjoying the traditional hospitality of a rural pub; from stylish waterside apartments in Bournemouth, Poole or Weymouth to thatched cottages in one of Dorset’s many attractive villages.
